Running Google Ads has always been time consuming whenever a new Advertiser finds out that he or she needs to be more effective with keywords. Effective meaning utilizing different match types to effectively match up what users of Google are typing in. I’ve created this simple tool to help Google Ads beginners to easily create different match types for their Google Ads account.

What are BMM Keywords?

BMM Keywords, also known as Broad Modified Match type keywords. These are Google Ads keywords that will try to match search terms that have all the BMM keywords you’ve chosen. For example: you use the BMM keyword +lenovo +thinkpad. This BMM keyword will match any search term that has lenovo and thinkpad keywords in it.

Keywords like: lenovo thinkpad x1, lenovo x1 thinkpad, thinkpad x1 lenovo laptop. As you can see, as long as the BMM keyword exists in the search term your Ad can show up. However, if you have the exact match type you are likely to get a better Ad ranking and CTR because the more exact your keywords are Google will give it a higher Ad ranking score.

When should you be using BMM Keywords?

Use BMM keywords when you are starting your account and have enough budget to try out more keywords. The key is you need set up your conversion tracking properly so that you’ll find out what search terms are triggering the ads. And then you use the search terms as exact keywords in your Google Ads account.

As mentioned earlier, the exact keywords will give you higher Ad ranking score which means you’ll pay less or have lower cost per click (CPC.) I would suggest that you have very similar BMM keywords in the same AdGroup so that you can customize your Ads to the BMM keywords in your AdGroup. If a BMM keyword is very different from your current AdGroup make sure you create another AdGroup for it with a new set of Ads that is more specific for the new BMM keyword. This way you can make sure your AdGroup, Ads and BMM keyword has higher ad ranking.

How do you use this to generate BMM keywords as a BMM Tool?

After you do your keyword research. Enter all those keywords into the keywords text area on this page. And click the transform button right below the text area. It’s as easy as that. You can use this tool to generate only BMM Keywords or generate a only Exact keyword or even a combination of BMM, Exact or Phrase.
