1. Cap your daily budget – many people over spend and get burned in the first few days with google adwords, so make sure you cap your daily budget to as low as possible until you are comfortable.

2. Target a smaller location – if you have a local business, it’s typically easier to convert someone who is close by, you can then venture out when you are more comfortable with your skills.

3. Organize your keywords into groups, auto insurance related in one group, home insurance related in another etc.

4.¬†Protect your click through rate, make sure it’s as healthy as possible, a very low account CTR will make your CPC cost per click really high.

5. Always split test your ads. Have 2 ads all the time to see which one perform better, after you decide on the winner you can go ahead and create another one to try to see if you can beat the winner.
